This type of detector (multicriteria: optical and thermal – rate of rise A1R) continuously samples the air and the temperature variation in the protected area to provide the earliest warning of fire, offering, at the same time, a high level of false alarm rejection.

The particular design of the smoke entry ports limits the accumulation of dust and provides protection from contamination. This allows the user to extend maintenance periods without limiting the sensitivity. In addition, the external screen provides high protection against insects. The structure of the optical chamber is fully symmetrical and ensure a good flow of air from all directions and provide intrinsic immunity to ambient light. A thermistor positioned centrally supervises the ambient temperature rises slowly. In particular, the thermal component of the detector is of class A1R which provides for an intervention at a temperature of 58 ° C, temperature at the attainment of which the detector generates an alarm signal in the presence of very small increases in temperature.

The operating frequency is 868Mhz (7 frequency channels). Communication range is 200m. This device is powered by a main battery (type CR123A, battery life: 5 years typical) and a secondary battery (type CR2032A, battery life: 2 months typical). The secondary battery will power the device only in case the main battery is low. The control panel indicates this fault.

This detector is suitable for connection to the control panel ADR2A with which it communicates via a custom fully digital protocol through a wire to wireless translator. This ensures an exchange of information at high frequency between the control panel and the device providing a quick and safe response. The information exchanged are also related to the quality of communication and the level of dirt inside the device; in addition a check is made for double digital address. It’s possible to connect up to 240 points per loop.

The control panel is able to automatically detect and identify all points connected to the detection circuits (loops), scanning all possible addresses (1 to 240). All points should be pre-linked to a wire to wireless translator or to an expander module (refer to the related documentation).

The base is included. The detector can be locked to its base with a anti-tamper detector lock; it works as a deterrent to intentional removal performed by non authorized personnel.

To verify the correct operation of the detectors, all devices can be tested after installation directly from the PC, with appropriate software, connected to the control panel ADR2A. All the points connected to the loop are cyclically tested so that the users have a complete situation of the firefighting system.

The production of the detectors is carried out by applying a quality control system, which includes a series of rules regarding the construction of all the devices.

The multicriteria addressable detectors are certified by an authorized third party certification body, (LPCB + BRE), in accordance with the standard EN 54-5:2000 + A1:2002, EN 54-7:2000 + A1:2002+A2:2006, EN 54-25:2008.
